Proceeds from the Gala benefit the Chamber’s program of work, which includes Houston On Board, an initiative to increase the number of women serving on corporate boards, providing scholarships for deserving female students graduating from Aldine, Conroe, Fort Bend, Houston, Spring, and Spring Branch school districts to attend a Texas college of their choice; Smart Start for Women Entrepreneurs, a program to help entrepreneurs start or expand their business, stabilize and increase their incomes, and create additional employment and contribute to the economic development of the Greater Houston area; and STEAM Town USA, an initiative to increase exposure of third grade girls interest in math and science through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts & Math (STEAM) concepts, improve grades and graduation rates, and encourage girls to pursue STEAM careers.
